Pet Tales Rescue is a network of fosters and volunteers that work to find the perfect homes for animals in need.

Our cats and dogs are housed in foster homes and treated like family. This gives us the advantage of getting to know each one as an individual; once we have an understanding of their specific personality and needs, we can find them the perfect home!

Find Your New Best Friend

Our mission is to match pets with their perfect forever family.

Alice

Meet Alice-She is an 8 month old red & white Beagle. She is about 15 pounds and probably is close to her fully grown weight. She is excellent with kids and dogs and hasn’t met any cats. She did spend her first 7 months of life in a puppy mill so she is timid when meeting new people and animals. However, she warms up quickly and can be won over quickly with something yummy to eat. In fact, she will even help you clean your floors of any crumbs you drop, she is a very food oriented girl. She is still learning about the world so she needs an owner who would be willing to work with her on learning that the world is a fun, safe place. She needs a little work on manners as well but responds quickly when corrected. She is progressing well with house training. If kept on a strict schedule she knows to only go outside. She loves to chew and shred rope toys and loves to play tug with her canine foster brother. She is spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, and is ready to meet you. Meet Juba: A Loving Soul in Need of a Special Someone Juba is a sweet, 7-year-old calico who has known love and loss. She was adopted as a kitten and spent seven wonderful years with her human, only to be returned to our rescue after her loving owner sadly passed away. Juba has been in foster care for 186 days now (as of 10/15/24), and though she enjoys the companionship of her foster mom, she’s still a little confused and misses her previous home. She is currently in a foster home with 8 other adult cats and it’s a bit overwhelming for her. She would love a more quiet, laid back vibe. Juba loves nothing more than sitting beside you while you work from home or curl up with a good book. She also has a playful side and loves wand toys! She’s not a fan of other animals and would thrive as the one and only pet in your home. Juba is looking for a patient, understanding adopter who is willing to give her the time she needs to adjust. Once she feels safe and secure, Juba’s true personality shines—she’s the sweetest, most loyal companion you could ask for. If you’re looking for a beautiful, loving cat to be your one-and-only, Juba could be the perfect match. She just needs someone to give her a chance to love again. Will it be you? Juba is spayed, microchipped, and up to date on all vaccines. She’s also FeLV/FIV negative. Apply at pettalesrescue.com View full description »

Meet Gracie! She is a 3 year old love bug. She is a healthy girl that does great with other cats, dogs, and kids. Her personality at first is stand-offish and then she explodes with love. She can often be found sleeping in a favorite hiding spot, searching for head scratches or laying on her humans legs as they sleep. Gracie is a small tabby cat and still has kitten-like looks. She was previously owned by someone who had to surrender due to financial reasons but he sure raised a sweetie. If you want a cat that is equally independent but loves pets, runs around but sleeps on you, Gracie is your girl. She is waiting for someone who will give endless attention and pets. She is spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, and is ready to meet you, Apply at pettalesrescue.com View full description »

Hermione

Hermione
Hermione

This is Hermione. Hermione is a sweet gentle Pomeranian. She is spayed, microchipped, tested negative for heartworm and up to date on her core vaccines. Please keep in mind that she will likely need a dental done in the near future. Hermione is good with other dogs but being a nearly 12 year old girl, she does have her limits. She is also good around cats and has been great with children who are respectful of her limits. Hermione is from a puppy mill situation and because of this she has no potty training and does not do well in a kennel or locked in a small space. There is a chance she could be retrained in these areas but also a chance she is set in her way. She is also not leash trained. She will not walk on a leash or go potty while on a leash.A home with a fenced in yard would be ideal. At this time she needs to be brought outside every couple of hours during the day. She does better at night but is an early riser, so she will need to be brought out early to avoid any accidents. Her favorite things are head scratches, eating and sleeping. She is a senior dog looking for a home with a lot of love and patience. Apply at pettalesrescue.com View full description »

Pet overpopulation leads to thousands of unnecessary deaths each year.

We are involved in our communities to not only raise awareness but to be a resource and to help educate in a positive way.

The Pet Tales Journey

1. Rescue

When we’re contacted about an animal in need, we work quickly to determine the best course of action. If that course means coming into our rescue, we mobilize right away to secure the animal and place it safely within a foster home.

4. Sterilization

Spaying and neutering is something we feel very strongly about here at Pet Tales. EVERY animal we take in is fixed (sterilized) prior to finding their new home. We work hard to educate our community about the benefits of neutering their pet, and we believe this type of education is key to reducing pet overpopulation and overall shelter numbers.

2. Foster

Once we’ve successfully placed the pet within a foster home, the road to adoption begins! Their new foster will make sure they’re comfortable, clean, and given ample decompression time. From there, the foster will evaluate their personality and assess their specific needs.

5. Find a Home

The best part of all! Once our foster pets are ready mentally and medically, we begin the process of finding them the perfect forever-home. This begins with potential adopters filling out our online application. Once we have screened the applicant and determined whether their lifestyle seems like a good fit for the desired animal, we set up a meet and greet. If the meetup is successful and both parties are in agreement about adopting the pet, we finalize the adoption!

3. Screening & Treatment

We waste no time having new foster animals seen by a veterinarian! They are thoroughly checked over, tested for various ailments (such as parasites or heartworm), and vaccinated appropriately.

6. Follow Up Support

When you adopt a pet from us, you are NEVER alone! Our ultimate goal is to unite our fosters with their perfect family, and for them to spend a lifetime together. To ensure this goal is met, we will provide continuous support and advice whenever needed, for the life of your pet.

Happy Tales

“This is my little girl Vera. I adopted her from Pet Tales in April 2019. She had the same rough start that Luna had. Pet Tales took great care of her. She had many teeth removed and also one eye. She is spoiled rotten and I love her so much.”

– Pat Clark-Saur

“This is Rozie. We rescued her 5 years ago from Pet Tales. She is the sweetest dog we have ever had. At 1 year old she became part of a pet therapy group called Pet A Pet. We primarily go to Beaumont Hospital – Taylor, MI. She loves visiting the patients. We have been so blessed to have this sweet girl as part of our family. Thank you to Pet Tales for all of the hard work you put into rescuing these animals.”

– Jenny King Baugh

“Our Sweet Peanut….adopted this past summer (2020). An amazingly sweet girl, who loves any and all attention. She has completed our little family more than we could have ever hoped! Thank you so much, Pet Tales for our sweet girl”

– Kevin & Becky Thompson

Pet Tales Rescue was established in 2010…

By people who had spent several years volunteering with other rescues. They decided to take their many years of knowledge and experience out on their own to help find homes for abused and abandoned pets. We are committed to finding loving, permanent homes that will provide the love, companionship, and quality care that every animal deserves.
