Pet Tales Rescue is a network of fosters and volunteers that work to find the perfect homes for animals in need.

Our cats and dogs are housed in foster homes and treated like family. This gives us the advantage of getting to know each one as an individual; once we have an understanding of their specific personality and needs, we can find them the perfect home!

Wingbeats & Wiggle Butts: The Michigan Moths On warm summer nights in Michigan, moths dance in the glow of porch lights— quiet, beautiful, and full of secret magic. That’s exactly what this special litter brings: a gentle light that will draw you in and make you fall in love. Meet the Michigan Moths: 5 girls and 3 boys, each a soft-winged bundle of joy. At just 3 months old, these cattle dog/pittie mix pups are expected to stay on the smaller side (around 40 lbs full grown), but their hearts? Absolutely limitless. Just like moths, they’re curious about every corner of life—chasing toys, sniffing new scents, and finding the coziest spots to curl up when playtime is done. They’ve been well-socialized, handled with care, and are already learning that humans mean love, safety, and snacks. Meet the flutter crew: Girls: Sphinx, Luna, Cecropia, Gypsy, Satyr Boys: Lo, Dagger, Ailanthus From the watchful dreamers to the fearless explorers, each pup has a story ready to unfold in the glow of their forever home. Whether you want a bold adventurer, a gentle moonbeam, or a goofy cuddlebug, there’s a Michigan Moth waiting to make your heart their landing spot. These pups are ready to spread their wings! They are spayed/neutered, age-appropriately vaccinated, and microchipped. To meet the Moth babies, please apply at pettalesrescue.com View full description »

Danny

Danny
DannyDannyDannyDannyDanny

Meet Danny, a very sweet orange and white male tabby, born 4/22/23. Danny was a 3 week old kitten when he came into rescue from the shelter with his Mama and four siblings. He was adopted in Sept 2023 at five months old to a wonderful family. But to his misfortune, his family came upon some issues where they could no longer keep Danny. So, through no fault of his own, Danny was returned to our rescue in July 2024. Since he was raised in a very nice home, he had blossomed into a very friendly, loveable cat and not to mention a stunningly handsome fellow. Danny did live with another cat in the adoptive home and they got along well. Danny adapted very well back into his original foster home, even with the current resident cats. Danny is a lover not a fighter. In September of 2024, Danny was adopted for the second time by a very nice couple who absolutely loved him. They even kept his name. But again to Danny's misfortune, his adoptive Dad passed away in June 2025. Danny was very bonded to him and was missing him alot. His adoptive Mom travels alot and didn't feel it was fair to Danny to be home all alone and so often. His Mom did get him caregivers when she was away, but her thought was he would be so much happier with a family around him all the time. So, Danny was again returned to the rescue in August 2025. Danny is still young at almost 2 1/2 years old. Danny seems to be very adaptable and it's believed he will do very well in his next adoptive home if given the time, love & attention he deserves. Luckily Danny was able to go back to his original Foster Mom and is getting lots of love. He is comfortable and remembers his surroundings, but he does seem a little sad. Danny loves his cat tree, his special toys and adores being brushed! He is fixed, vaccinated, microchipped and very healthy! He is a big boy at 15#, big cats are awesome! He has not been around dogs, so it's unsure how he would react. It's hoped that Danny can find his forever home this time. He'd love to settle in somewhere knowing he is there to stay. We are hoping the third time's the charm! After all he's been through, I would say he deserves it! To meet Danny, please apply at pettalesrescue.com View full description »

Pet overpopulation leads to thousands of unnecessary deaths each year.

We are involved in our communities to not only raise awareness but to be a resource and to help educate in a positive way.

The Pet Tales Journey

1. Rescue

When we’re contacted about an animal in need, we work quickly to determine the best course of action. If that course means coming into our rescue, we mobilize right away to secure the animal and place it safely within a foster home.

4. Sterilization

Spaying and neutering is something we feel very strongly about here at Pet Tales. EVERY animal we take in is fixed (sterilized) prior to finding their new home. We work hard to educate our community about the benefits of neutering their pet, and we believe this type of education is key to reducing pet overpopulation and overall shelter numbers.

2. Foster

Once we’ve successfully placed the pet within a foster home, the road to adoption begins! Their new foster will make sure they’re comfortable, clean, and given ample decompression time. From there, the foster will evaluate their personality and assess their specific needs.

5. Find a Home

The best part of all! Once our foster pets are ready mentally and medically, we begin the process of finding them the perfect forever-home. This begins with potential adopters filling out our online application. Once we have screened the applicant and determined whether their lifestyle seems like a good fit for the desired animal, we set up a meet and greet. If the meetup is successful and both parties are in agreement about adopting the pet, we finalize the adoption!

3. Screening & Treatment

We waste no time having new foster animals seen by a veterinarian! They are thoroughly checked over, tested for various ailments (such as parasites or heartworm), and vaccinated appropriately.

6. Follow Up Support

When you adopt a pet from us, you are NEVER alone! Our ultimate goal is to unite our fosters with their perfect family, and for them to spend a lifetime together. To ensure this goal is met, we will provide continuous support and advice whenever needed, for the life of your pet.

Happy Tales

“This is my little girl Vera. I adopted her from Pet Tales in April 2019. She had the same rough start that Luna had. Pet Tales took great care of her. She had many teeth removed and also one eye. She is spoiled rotten and I love her so much.”

– Pat Clark-Saur

“This is Rozie. We rescued her 5 years ago from Pet Tales. She is the sweetest dog we have ever had. At 1 year old she became part of a pet therapy group called Pet A Pet. We primarily go to Beaumont Hospital – Taylor, MI. She loves visiting the patients. We have been so blessed to have this sweet girl as part of our family. Thank you to Pet Tales for all of the hard work you put into rescuing these animals.”

– Jenny King Baugh

“Our Sweet Peanut….adopted this past summer (2020). An amazingly sweet girl, who loves any and all attention. She has completed our little family more than we could have ever hoped! Thank you so much, Pet Tales for our sweet girl”

– Kevin & Becky Thompson

Pet Tales Rescue was established in 2010…

By people who had spent several years volunteering with other rescues. They decided to take their many years of knowledge and experience out on their own to help find homes for abused and abandoned pets. We are committed to finding loving, permanent homes that will provide the love, companionship, and quality care that every animal deserves.
