Pet Tales Rescue is a network of fosters and volunteers that work to find the perfect homes for animals in need.

Our cats and dogs are housed in foster homes and treated like family. This gives us the advantage of getting to know each one as an individual; once we have an understanding of their specific personality and needs, we can find them the perfect home!

Lark & Cammie

Hey there, fabulous feline enthusiasts! Allow me to introduce myself: I'm Lark (5 years old), the enchanting dilute torti, and this radiant ray of sunshine beside me is none other than Cammie (3 years old), a mesmerizing calico/torbi mix! Together, we form an unbeatable mother/daughter duo on the prowl for our forever home, where our bond can flourish. While we prefer to reign supreme as the sole furry rulers of your domain, we might entertain the idea of sharing our kingdom with a chill canine companion. Sure, I may start off a bit reserved, but with Cammie's outgoing nature leading the charge, I'm quick to join the party! While we're not quite snuggle enthusiasts yet, trust me, we've got the potential. Give us a tranquil haven, and watch us bloom into the lap cats of your dreams! With our FIV/FeLV tests cleared, vaccinations up to date, and spaying complete, we're ready to embark on our next adventure in the lap of luxury! Their adoption fee is $240 for the pair. Introducing “The Cars” Camaro and Pinto These boys are brothers that are gassed up and ready for adventures together. They are both domestic medium haired kittens that are tuxedo in color. You may think you are seeing double because they look almost identical except for their back legs that differentiate them. They were found on a farm and are estimated to be 12 weeks of age. Both kittens are very social and have been introduced to cats and have done remarkable after a brief introduction period. At this point, they are slowly being introduced to dogs. Camaro is the livelier kitten and loves to show his speed and dexterity by using his quick paw work with his much loved orange play mouse. Pinto is a little slower to express himself but don’t underestimate his abilities, he is a skate board riding king that loves to be by other people and animals when he isn’t playing or sleeping with his brother. Together, they provide entertainment, snuggles and cuddles (with each other and also with people) and daily laughter as they navigate kitten life together. They both can’t wait to meet you so that they can show you how much fun cars can be! They are neutered, age appropriately vaccinated, microchipped, and ready to meet their forever family. Their adoption fee is $320 for the pair. View full description »

Phillip - happy playful kitty

Meet Phillip! He’s estimated to be 5 years old, male domestic short hair tabby. Phillip is good with dogs, other cats, kids, and babies. He was born with iris to cornea PPM (persistent pupillary membranes) in both eyes. The right eye was significantly affected compared to the left. He does not have full vision in his remaining eye but it doesn’t slow him down one but. This condition should not change overtime. I encourage you to read about it! While the condition itself is more of a nuisance than anything else, Phil’s case led to increased eye pressure that was unmanageable which led to removal. Since the removal, Phil has blossomed into quite the cat. He is energetic, curious and playful, you'd think he’s a kitten. Phil has been with us since October, when he arrived he was untouchable but now he is loveable and makes the best foot warmer at bed time. He is vocal, loves treats and wet food and so much fun to watch while he plays around the entire house. If it isn’t nailed down, Phil is gonna play with jt. Having a plethora of toys is a must for him. I love guessing where I’ll catch him napping. He really is just a fun cat who can’t wait to find his forever home. He is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and ready to go home. Apply at pettalesrescue.com View full description »

Baby, Male, Medium

Pet overpopulation leads to thousands of unnecessary deaths each year.

We are involved in our communities to not only raise awareness but to be a resource and to help educate in a positive way.

The Pet Tales Journey

1. Rescue

When we’re contacted about an animal in need, we work quickly to determine the best course of action. If that course means coming into our rescue, we mobilize right away to secure the animal and place it safely within a foster home.

4. Sterilization

Spaying and neutering is something we feel very strongly about here at Pet Tales. EVERY animal we take in is fixed (sterilized) prior to finding their new home. We work hard to educate our community about the benefits of neutering their pet, and we believe this type of education is key to reducing pet overpopulation and overall shelter numbers.

2. Foster

Once we’ve successfully placed the pet within a foster home, the road to adoption begins! Their new foster will make sure they’re comfortable, clean, and given ample decompression time. From there, the foster will evaluate their personality and assess their specific needs.

5. Find a Home

The best part of all! Once our foster pets are ready mentally and medically, we begin the process of finding them the perfect forever-home. This begins with potential adopters filling out our online application. Once we have screened the applicant and determined whether their lifestyle seems like a good fit for the desired animal, we set up a meet and greet. If the meetup is successful and both parties are in agreement about adopting the pet, we finalize the adoption!

3. Screening & Treatment

We waste no time having new foster animals seen by a veterinarian! They are thoroughly checked over, tested for various ailments (such as parasites or heartworm), and vaccinated appropriately.

6. Follow Up Support

When you adopt a pet from us, you are NEVER alone! Our ultimate goal is to unite our fosters with their perfect family, and for them to spend a lifetime together. To ensure this goal is met, we will provide continuous support and advice whenever needed, for the life of your pet.

Happy Tales

“This is my little girl Vera. I adopted her from Pet Tales in April 2019. She had the same rough start that Luna had. Pet Tales took great care of her. She had many teeth removed and also one eye. She is spoiled rotten and I love her so much.”

– Pat Clark-Saur

“This is Rozie. We rescued her 5 years ago from Pet Tales. She is the sweetest dog we have ever had. At 1 year old she became part of a pet therapy group called Pet A Pet. We primarily go to Beaumont Hospital – Taylor, MI. She loves visiting the patients. We have been so blessed to have this sweet girl as part of our family. Thank you to Pet Tales for all of the hard work you put into rescuing these animals.”

– Jenny King Baugh

“Our Sweet Peanut….adopted this past summer (2020). An amazingly sweet girl, who loves any and all attention. She has completed our little family more than we could have ever hoped! Thank you so much, Pet Tales for our sweet girl”

– Kevin & Becky Thompson

Pet Tales Rescue was established in 2010…

By people who had spent several years volunteering with other rescues. They decided to take their many years of knowledge and experience out on their own to help find homes for abused and abandoned pets. We are committed to finding loving, permanent homes that will provide the love, companionship, and quality care that every animal deserves.
